Minerals are elements that originate in the soil and can’t be created by living things, such as plants and animals. Yet plants, animals and humans need minerals in order to be healthy. Plants absorb minerals in the soil, and animals get their minerals from the plants or other animals they eat. Minerals in Nuts and Grains
Minerals are present in great quantity in all the nuts and grains varieties. Minerals such as manganese, chloride, copper, magnesium, molybdenum, sodium and selenium are all found in the nuts in rich amount. Many of the nuts possess high volume of copper while salted nuts possess high level of sodium inside them. Different fruits contain minerals such as: Oranges, Blackberries, Dates, Pears, Banana, Grapefruits, Black currants, Pomegranate, Avocado, Apricot, Kiwi fruit, Guava, Watermelon.
Again these are also mineral rich food and include all important minerals. Nowadays mineral fortified beans can be found in the market. Beans rich in minerals are: Fava bean, Black bean, Lima bean, Adzuki bean, Pinto bean, Edamame, Kidney bean, Black eye peas, Winged beans, Soy beans.
Seafood is another rich source of minerals such as zinc, selenium, copper and iron. Many different fishes are rich in minerals and vitamins e.g. oysters.
